Director's Message

Training wing of Directorate of Employment and Training under Department of Labour, Employment, Training and Skill development imparts vocational training in engineering & non-engineering trades to the youth through a network of 66 government and 264 private ITIs, spread across the state. Presently training is imparted in 51 engineering and non-engineering trades. The installed capacity of government and private ITIs taken together is around 100,652 .Some of the ITI’s are proposed to be operationalized and run under Public-Private-Partnership mode. There will be a quantum jump in the intake capacity when these ITIs get operational.

Centre of Excellence has been established in ITI, Ranchi(General) – Production & Manufacturing Sector / ITI, Ranchi(Welfare) – Electrical sector / ITI, Sahebganj – Electrical Sector and ITI, Dhanbad – IT Sector.

Eight ITIs of the state namely ITI, Chaibasa / ITI, Daltonganj / ITI, Jamshedpur / ITI, Dumka / ITI, Seraikela-Khersawan / ITI, Giridih / WITI, Ranchi and WITI, Jamshedpur have been upgraded under the CSS “Upgradation of 1396 ITIs under “Public-Private-Partnership”. Directorate has entered into MoU with JSPL and TATA Steel for running ITIs under PPP at Godda & Tamar (Ranchi) & Chandil. 03 ITI's namely ITI Dhanbad/Bokaro/Jamshedpur is covered under centrelly sponsered scheme STRIVE.

For implementation of Apprenticeship Act, 1961 the state has created four separate zones each headed by a Assistant Director Training. These offices are situated at Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dumka and Adityapur.
